Larry Bensky, contributing editor, is a literary and political journalist who got his start in arts coverage writing for The Paris Review and The New York Times Review of Books. A graduate of Yale University and former editor of the Yale Daily News, he anchored national broadcast hearings for the Pacifica network and a longtime show on the Pacifica affiliate KPFA-FM in Berkeley, California, where he also wrote for the East Bay Express. He is a former editor of Ramparts magazine and has written for The Nation, The New York Times, the Los Angeles Times Sunday Book Review, and many other publications. He won the prestigious George Polk Award for his coverage of Iran–Contra, and has won five Gold Reel awards from the National Federation of Community Broadcasters and a lifetime achievement award from the Society of Professional Journalists.
