Lottie Joiner is an award-winning multimedia journalist based in New Orleans and is a board member of Free Speech TV. Her work explores the lived experiences of those in underserved and marginalized communities. She’s the former editor-in-chief of The Crisis magazine, the official publication of the NAACP, and hosted and produced its weekly Facebook Live show, “Crisis Conversations.” Her work has been published in The Washington Post, USA Today, The Daily Beast, The Guardian, and Time.com. In 2021, Lottie participated in the Maynard Institute’s Maynard 200 Fellowship Executive Leadership program and the Poynter Leadership Academy for Women in Media program. In 2025, Lottie was named a 2025-2026 Rosalynn Carter Fellow for Mental Health Journalism.
